I have been receiving calls from [redacted] pretending to be the IRS, but I cannot locate a phone number to report this scam. They left an automated message claiming that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and demanding a callback. Despite trying three times and allowing it to ring for 10 times each, nobody answered. I waited for over 3 hours before attempting to call back. Their most recent automated message warned that they were from the IRS and that this would be their final contact regarding the alleged lawsuit.

I requested a payment plan, and I received a letter stating that a response would be provided within 90 days as they were missing necessary information. Subsequently, I got certified mail for each year I requested to be considered for the plan, warning of possible property levy if not paid by November 12th. The forms for a payment plan were included, but with our recent income loss, paying in full is impossible. I urgently need the payment plan and will settle the account as soon as feasible. What steps should I take next? Do I need to resubmit the payment plan request? Can I speak to a live representative through this chat?

While working at a salon, as a licensed cosmetologist, my boss required me to get a business license even though I was working solely under him and giving him a 45% commission. He restricted me to using only his products and prohibited me from collecting client information to establish my own business since he considered them "his clients." I have been attempting to file my [redacted] form, dating back to [redacted], due to the situation (unaware of his unethical practices) but have been facing challenges preventing me from completing the process. As a result, I am now facing late fees, and the tax consultant assigned to me has not been available for a discussion. I am seeking assistance with this matter!

Months ago, I submitted a request for a payment plan after receiving a notice about an error on my [redacted] taxes causing a $1,[redacted] underpayment. Subsequently, I was informed that my request was approved, and automatic debits from my checking account for the repayment would begin once processed. However, the payments have not started, and I recently received another notice stating that I need to resolve this within a month. I am worried that there might have been a processing mistake, and I would like to speak with someone to clarify the situation and check the status of my case.

Throughout [redacted], my daughter and her two children resided with me rent-free. I covered all living costs in my residence, and in late October, she secured a part-time job. I suspect that now both she and her estranged husband, who does not contribute to child or spousal support, might be planning to file taxes, potentially claiming the children. I believe I should be the one to claim everyone who lived in my household. What steps can I take in this situation?

The IRS contacted me approximately five years ago regarding someone in South Carolina claiming my taxes while I reside in Michigan. It turns out it's my ex-wife from our failed marriage. Despite being aware of the situation, there has been no resolution despite multiple follow-up calls. I am now in a long-term relationship for a decade and facing new issues, requiring a PIN number for tax documents. I hope to communicate with someone to address the ongoing problems related to my case promptly, as they previously assigned an agent to assist.

I received a message from TurboTax stating that a new account was created for this year's tax season, but we have not made a new account or filed our taxes yet. TurboTax requested our SS# to investigate if our information was compromised. Unsure if the email was legitimate or a scam, I refrained from providing any information. I need the IRS to verify this situation. Thank you, L. Sanders.

For a few years, I have struggled to pay my taxes on time and owe money to the IRS. My previous payment plan was cancelled due to rejected online payments for insufficient funds. I aim to restart the payment plan since I believe my debt is less than 50 thousand. I am uncertain of the exact amount owed and the tax years it covers. I need to determine my total balance owed and the specific tax years involved to proceed with setting up a new payment arrangement with the IRS.

It has been over 21 days since I requested my refund. I am concerned about the delay and need to understand if there are any issues with the processing. My financial situation is critical, with pending eviction, repossession, and utility shut-offs due to this delayed refund. I am eager to provide any additional details needed to expedite the process or to know if there is a backlog causing the delay. Any information about the specific hold-up, guidance on how to resolve it, and an estimate of when I can expect the refund would be greatly appreciated.

I've come across information online indicating that the custodial parent usually claims the exemption for a dependent child. However, my divorce decree states that my ex-spouse, the non-custodial parent, can claim our daughter. Despite this, we made an agreement to alternate claiming her each year. It was supposed to be my turn this year, but he claimed her, resulting in my tax return being rejected. I would appreciate any guidance on this matter. Thank you. - Deb

During my tax filing with Turbo Tax, I mistakenly selected an option to apply my refund to next year's taxes, which was not my intention. Following advice to wait for processing, I sent a written letter yesterday to rectify the error. Recently, I discovered I will be relocating to Janesville by March 31st. I am concerned about the refund check being sent to the old address. Is there a way to update my address to ensure the check is delivered to my new residence?

Last year, I submitted my amended return without the original, resulting in not receiving my return money. Upon filing this year, I indicated that I had filed last year, which caused my current filing to be rejected as there was no record of my previous submission. To address this issue, I corrected my response this year by stating that I had not filed the previous year (even though it was the only selection available). Currently, my federal return has been pending for a month, and my state return is being held as a result of this situation.

A group of us ex-colleagues, including myself, haven't received our W-2 forms. Despite attempts to reach out via calls, the employer hasn't been cooperative. I was informed that a written request was necessary to obtain the W-2s. The letter clearly indicated my preference for them to be sent by mail. However, the employer insisted on a face-to-face meeting at his establishment to hand them over. Upon my arrival, the staff informed me that he wouldn't be present and requested a payment of ten dollars for the documents.

My husband and I filed our taxes, and they were directly deposited onto our prepaid debit card with card.com. We received our money on 02/24/16. We were able to use it a few times, but now they have put a hold on it, requesting copies of my husband's SS card, driver's license, W2 forms, and a piece of mail to confirm the address. They provided a fax number that doesn't match their listed fax number and has been flagged by the BBB. Please assist us.

My name is Alessandra B., and my social security number is [redacted]. On [date], I had to file taxes without my W-2 because my ex-boss, Howard Z., did not provide it on time. I recently received an IRS notice stating the correct amount but I misplaced it. I need an extension for my [redacted] Form [redacted] and request the IRS to resend the notice for an amendment. Furthermore, I am having trouble with healthcare.gov locating my [redacted]-A form. Could you address these IRS and marketplace issues for me, please?

I utilized a loan from my employer's K savings plan to help with a house down payment. The IRS notified me of unpaid taxes on this loan. I later found out that loans repaid through employer deductions should not be considered as income. How should I reach out to the IRS to address this matter? Thank you.

I need to get in touch with the IRS to address the following inquiries: a) How much do I owe for [redacted] and for [redacted]? b) What are the interest rates for each year? c) Are there any available options to decrease the interest rate? d) Should I make separate monthly payments, or can the accounts be linked for a unified monthly bill? e) Are there any penalties being incurred? If so, is there a possibility to eliminate or lessen them? That covers everything. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I have been trying to receive my W from PA to Ohio for almost months now. It was first sent to the wrong address. Then I was told it was going into the mail with the correct address. I called back three weeks later to find out it was still on their office desk not mailed. They said they would put it in the mail that day. I called back two weeks later and they said it was mailed. It's almost been a month since then. How do I go about receiving it when they won't answer my calls now? I have a baby due in a month and really need that money.

In June, I completed a month-long internship in California before returning to the UK in May. I filed my tax return in February and promptly received my state refund within a month. However, it's been over a year, and I have yet to receive a significantly large federal refund. I know I need to file my taxes again for this year, but I'm still awaiting the previous refund. Living in the UK now, it's quite challenging and expensive for me to reach out to the IRS, especially considering how challenging it is to speak to a live person. Can anyone offer assistance with this matter?

My mother-in-law settled the taxes owed from the cp2000 letter with a credit card. We are currently in the process of applying for an FHA home loan. What documentation should we provide to the underwriters? Would the payment receipt suffice, or is a signed letter from my mother-in-law stating that we don't need to repay her necessary? Additionally, since the credit card used is not linked to our credit report, how will this payment impact our debt-to-income ratio?
