I recently sent my laptop in for warranty repair, and it was returned last Friday. However, upon turning it on Saturday, the same issue persisted. The Toshiba logo displays followed by the message "media file non-rebootable restart system." I did not receive a disc with the computer. I'm concerned about the reliability of the device. I'd like to know what steps can be taken to address this recurring problem and prevent it from happening again. My faith in Toshiba is starting to waver.

Before the upgrade, my laptop's battery life was around 30 minutes when unplugged. Since upgrading to Windows 10, the battery drains instantly upon unplugging and the battery indicator is erratic, showing both 'Fully Charged [redacted]%' and 'No Battery Detected'. I'm uncertain whether this is due to the Windows 10 installation or if it's solely a battery problem.

I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to 10, and now my screen appears squashed horizontally. The brightness buttons didn't work initially, leading me to update my laptop in an attempt to fix them. However, upon restart, my screen appeared stretched. I have tried adjusting the resolution setting to its lowest point, but the issue persists. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I apologize for the confusion. I was under the impression I was connecting to live chat. I own a Toshiba Satellite P775-S7320 and recently upgraded to Windows 10 but am unable to locate the UEFI in the new BIOS. I have attempted the traditional methods using the F2 key and other F keys, as well as the Windows 8.1 approach that worked on my other laptop. My goal is to boot Linux from a USB upon startup. I have followed the steps to access UEFI Firmware Settings, but I only see a debug menu and nothing else. I reached out to Windows, and they redirected me to Toshiba. After waiting on hold for over an hour this morning, I decided to seek assistance online. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any help you can provide. - Gary.

I purchased a pre-owned Toshiba laptop from eBay. It's relatively new, but unfortunately has a mechanical issue with some keyboard keys not functioning. I'm seeking to have the warranty transferred to my name to address this problem. I've reached out to both Toshiba and the eBay seller regarding this matter. Toshiba indicated that the warranty can only be transferred by the original owner. The seller explained that they acquired the laptop at an auction and are unable to provide details about the original owner. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you. Paul

I misplaced my USB cable for my Toshiba 2TB Canvio external hard drive. The cable has a wider end compared to standard USB phone cables. I've spent an hour searching online and am unable to find definitive information about it being a 3.0 Micro-B cable, which I've come across. I've read conflicting information about compatibility and don't want to risk damaging my drive with the wrong cable. I need access to my data urgently and prefer not to wait a week for a $30 replacement to be delivered. I'm unclear whether this type of cable is common and if it can be used on a laptop with only USB 2.0 ports. Previously, I used it on my Lenovo T500 laptop before losing the cable. If a 3.0 Micro-B cable can't be used on a 2.0 port, what alternative cable should I be looking for? I appreciate any guidance. Thank you, John.

Subject: Toshiba Laptop Operating System Issue Hello Toshiba Support, I purchased a Toshiba laptop from Best Buy in [redacted], which has been working well until the operating system recently encountered problems. I have the re-installation discs for Windows 7 but lack the key code. The key code on the laptop has worn off with time, making it hard to validate my license or download Windows 7 from Microsoft. I have attached images of the key code sticker, my Best Buy receipt, computer serial number, discs, and the Microsoft download page for reference. Despite efforts with Best Buy and Microsoft, I have been unable to resolve this without the key code. Online attempts to retrieve the embedded key code were unsuccessful. Considering purchasing an OEM copy, I am hesitant due to negative experiences shared online. At almost eighty years old, I seek a verified key code accepted by Microsoft to resolve this issue. Any assistance or guidance from Toshiba would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Richard C.

I purchased a Toshiba TV from Best Buy last May. Unfortunately, while moving it today, the screen got damaged, even though it was padded and secured. I contacted Best Buy, and they told me that Toshiba no longer manufactures replacement screens for my model. Even if they did, the cost would exceed what I initially paid for the TV. I am extremely frustrated with this situation. I want to fix my screen, but I can't find a way to reach Toshiba for assistance. If this is the reality, I am considering getting rid of this TV and avoiding Toshiba products in the future. It is disappointing because I took great care in transporting the TV, and the damage occurred regardless. It feels like Toshiba is putting customers in a difficult position by not providing proper support.

I have a television model 32BV502B. Since the day I bought it, I have not been able to get any sound. It took me several years to discover the built-in speakers, which I believe are positioned under the screen on the wooden surface beneath the surrounding panel, making them hard to see. Initially, I opted to use an external amplifier for better sound quality and connected the TV to it using sound cables. Despite following all troubleshooting steps in the manual, the sound still does not work. A knowledgeable person inspected it and suspected it might be a defective TV. I am seeking guidance on how to make the sound work from the TV's built-in speakers, as I plan to sell it and want to ensure everything functions properly. Your help in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Sir, I am writing to address an issue I have encountered with a Toshiba 1 TB external hard disk, Serial Number 97L3TA6WT10F, which I purchased from Kaushik Enterprises in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh on 11/11/[redacted]. Unfortunately, after using the product for several months, it has stopped detecting on any laptops or PCs. When I approached the seller, they indicated that a replacement is possible but data recovery is not an option. This situation is troubling as I rely on this hard disk to store important files. As a reputable brand, it is disheartening to experience such quality concerns from Toshiba. I kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter, particularly in recovering my vital data. Additionally, I urge for appropriate action to be taken against dealers engaging in deceptive practices. Thank you for your attention to this issue. Best regards, Shekh Mohammed Zahid

I am facing an issue with my Toshiba Regza 32c3030db TV where it is not working on the DTV input. Despite trying to access the menu to reset the tuner, it only stays up for a brief moment, making it impossible to resolve the problem. The screen remains blank with no sound, although the aerial works fine on other TVs. After researching online, I discovered that there might be a firmware problem with the TV that requires an update. Other users with the same problem have contacted Toshiba support and received a firmware card to update their TV. Unfortunately, the helpline seems to be discontinued, and the only option provided is to contact them via email. I am reaching out for assistance in obtaining one of the firmware cards to fix my TV. Regards, P. Doorbar

My attempt to update Windows 10 failed with error codes. I contacted two techs from Windows who advised me to update the BIOS from Toshiba since ours is from [redacted] and [redacted] is the latest version. Having spent $[redacted] on a one-year service with three calls, I still do not have the BIOS update. It seems both parties are not cooperating to resolve this issue. Wouldn't having the latest BIOS and drivers narrow down the list of potential problems? I attempted to handle this on my own to avoid further poor service, only to find that the laptop originally came with Windows 8 and was later updated to Windows 10, but the BIOS settings do not include a Windows 10 option. I can see options for Windows 7, XP, and 8, but not 10. Which one should I follow?

I bought a Toshiba TV from Very and encountered software issues covered under warranty. Very connected me to Toshiba's helpline. Toshiba attempted to resolve the problem remotely by sending a USB with instructions to reset the TV. Unfortunately, this did not work. After contacting Toshiba again, they decided to collect the TV for repair. It was picked up on 12/11/[redacted]. Today, tech support claimed the screen damage was physical and cannot be repaired. I explained the damage occurred after pickup, but they were unhelpful. They insisted on sending the TV back unfixed. I am frustrated as the TV is less than a year old, and I am left unsure of what will happen next due to contacting Toshiba after hours.

I recently purchased a television because it was supposed to allow sound from both the TV speakers and the headphone jack simultaneously. I am hard of hearing and rely on headphones to listen to the TV, while my spouse listens through the speakers. I had confirmed this feature at the store but have been unable to make it work at home despite replicating the settings shown to me. I urgently require this dual sound feature due to my hearing impairment. I appreciate any assistance you can provide in resolving this issue promptly. Thank you for your help. Sincerely, P. Nutt

I own a Toshiba TV model 39L22U, Serial Number C452244C39086D1, manufactured in November [redacted], purchased from Best Buy on March 2, [redacted]. I am using the Dish Network on HDMI1 and HDMI2. The issue I am facing is that when I power on the TV, the screen remains black for a few seconds, then flashes "TOSHIBA" in red briefly and goes back to black, with only the power button working on the TV. I suspected the remote was the problem, so I ordered a new one, but the issue persists. I tried switching to an external antenna instead of Dish, but the screen still doesn't display properly. Resetting by unplugging for a minute didn't help either. I referred to the Toshiba manual but found no solution. Why does the screen only show "TOSHIBA" briefly in red and then go black again? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Frank Pritchard

I own a Toshiba TV model 39L22U, purchased from Best Buy in March [redacted], with a manufacturing date of November [redacted]. The issue I am facing is that when I turn on the TV, the screen remains black for a few seconds, briefly displaying "TOSHIBA" in red before going black again. The back controls are unresponsive except for the power button. I even tried a new remote but to no avail. I connected the TV to an antenna, similar to how I use it for a portable TV in the kitchen, but had no luck. Resetting the TV by unplugging it did not resolve the problem. I am at a loss and seeking guidance on how to fix this issue. Any support from Toshiba would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. -Frank P.

I recently performed a clean installation of Windows 10 64-bit on my Toshiba Satellite C655-S5082 using a [redacted] USB version created with the Media Creation Tool. I have been using the system for a few days now, but I keep encountering an error message that says, "C:\Windows\system32\igdumd32.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator." After closing this error, another identical one pops up, creating a chain of error windows until the third one. The only additional program I have installed is Acronis Ransomware Protection. Can anyone suggest a solution to this issue?

I need help disabling the screensaver on my Toshiba 43LF621U19 TV. My mother has limited vision and relies on the TV for entertainment. Despite troubleshooting with Toshiba and Amazon Echo Dot support, we discovered that the Echo Dot cannot control this Cox contour TV as we hoped. I improvised by marking her remote for easier access. The TV is set to return to the last channel viewed, which works well for her viewing habits. However, the issue arises with the screensaver activating when the TV switches on, making it difficult for her to navigate the remote. Recently, a message box appeared during her show, but she couldn't read it, causing frustration. I seek guidance on how to disable the screensaver to improve her viewing experience. Thank you.

I bought a Toshiba Satellite laptop four years ago, specifically the Satellite L50-B-1NX model. Unfortunately, I've constantly experienced hardware issues with it, primarily relating to the weak hinges that cannot support the screen properly. Despite undergoing five repairs, the problem persists, with the hinges now breaking and snapping the screw bed off on one side, rendering the laptop unusable. It's frustrating because apart from this issue, the laptop functions well, and I rely on it for work. I'm interested in sending it in for assessment without incurring more repair costs, as I've already spent a considerable amount. I have images of the damaged hinges that may help in understanding the problem better.

I own a Smart TV 49L571MEA, and I noticed that there is no Netflix app installed. When I tried to watch Netflix through the web browser, the page loads correctly, and I log in successfully. However, when I try to play any movie or TV show, I encounter the following error message: Netflix Error M7[redacted] The error message states: "Whoops, something went wrong... Missing Component. We cannot find all the required components to play Netflix on this device. Please visit chrome://components, locate the WidevineCdm component, and click the 'Check for update' button." It seems like there is a component on my browser that needs updating or is blocked by a security setting or program. Could anyone provide guidance on how to resolve this issue? Thank you.
