I used a neighbor's phone to activate them but later found one card nearly empty and the other with a balance. After contacting customer service, one card was frozen, and the other was emptied without my authorization. Despite providing all requested documents, I faced rude and unhelpful responses. I have a Walmart MoneyCard prepaid Visa debit card. I noticed $18 was taken from my account, so I contacted them, and they froze my account and sent me a new card. After waiting two weeks, I activated the new card, but there was a block on it. I had to upload photos of my ID online, and it took two business days to verify and remove the block. They refunded the $18, but now I can't use the card, and they're canceling it, stating I can't have another card with them in the future. Walmart couldn't give me the remaining balance, even though it was visible in my account. I'm frustrated and upset as I didn't do anything wrong to be declined future services due to someone trying to steal $18 from my account. I hope to find a resolution soon.

I visited the local Walmart in Snellville, GA on 10/26/18 and bought a Walmart Money Card for $20. When I tried to register it online at, I received an error message saying the card is invalid. I entered the 16-digit card number (5[redacted] 0[redacted]), the expiration date (08/20), and the 3-digit code ([redacted]). I revisited Walmart for help but was advised to call the [redacted] number on the card. Upon contacting the number, I faced the same issue of the card being deemed invalid without being able to speak to a customer service representative. After multiple attempts and being redirected to Green Dot, the problem persisted. I made a deposit of $50 a few days ago and another $50 today, but my balance is only $40. After spending $11 on a Lyft ride and withdrawing $22 from an ATM, I should have $67, not $40. After waiting for an hour on the phone, Mark mentioned that my card had been blocked because Walmart supposedly couldn't refund money to a Visa Greendot card. The manager then clarified that this was a common practice. Mark requested additional documentation, so I submitted a picture of my license, both credit cards, and the original receipt totaling $[redacted].53. Greendot insisted on the original receipt showing $[redacted].53, which was combined with other items. Despite numerous attempts to resolve the issue with different representatives, including Mark and Kevin, none could assist me during this urgent situation while my family member was hospitalized. Despite being promised responses within specific timelines, I have not received any updates via email or phone. I recently had to cancel my Green Dot card due to an unauthorized purchase. I had no trouble canceling it and received two new cards. I sent in my driver's license as instructed. However, within a short period, the new cards were cancelled without explanation. I have a $99 Direct Deposit from the Social Security Office, which was supposed to go on my Green Dot card. Yesterday, I spoke with Rachael, the supervisor of customer service, to explain that my card was locked. I had updated my address, requested a printout of the last four months of my Social Security direct deposits, and reset my login information the day before. I assured her that no unauthorized transactions had been made. Unfortunately, she transferred me to a department with high call volume and a longer-than-usual wait time, so I decided to end the call. This situation has left me feeling extremely upset. I mentioned to Rachael that my last transactions were at a tire place and Walmart. As a long-time Green Dot customer, I have never encountered such negligence. I urgently need my card unblocked as I am relocating back to PA and rely on Federal Funds from FEMA due to Hurricane Florence. When I tried to activate it, the website requested identity verification. I followed the steps but have not received any response after waiting two business days. I attempted to send her money through text, but she encountered an internal error message in a yellow box when trying to complete the transaction. With direct deposits and bill payments scheduled, closing my account is not ideal after being a loyal customer for over a decade. Experiencing two fraudulent charges within a week from a previously reliable card is concerning. As a senior widow, this situation has left me feeling vulnerable. I have been a loyal customer of GreenDot for a long time since it first launched. I have used various GreenDot cards over the years, from the original orange ones to the newest Cash Back Visa. Recently, I applied for the Platinum card, but when I tried to deposit my check via mobile deposit, I was told that I didn't have a strong enough relationship with GreenDot. I have been with GreenDot for almost 5 years, possibly longer, consistently depositing and withdrawing money. I am surprised and upset to receive an email stating that I am not considered a loyal customer despite my long-standing relationship with GreenDot.

I have registered my card but cannot activate it. The system says it is already activated. I have tried at three different locations, and all three said invalid card. I have called customer service about six times, but they are not helpful. Despite the system saying it's active, it clearly is not. When I log into the mobile app, it asks to activate the card, but when I enter the information, I receive an error that it doesn't match what's on file. Green Dot must rectify this. I should get my $7.95 back or, ideally, transfer my funds from the temporary card to my Go Bank card. It's confusing because both accounts are with Green Dot Bank, and customer service confirmed both yet denied the fund transfer due to the lack of a personalized card.
