My vehicle with VIN 5FNYF3H66BB021273 was stolen on September 24th, leaving me without transportation. Despite buying a new vehicle with VIN 5FNYF3H57BB016963 on November 9th in Mississippi, as a Louisiana resident in Orleans Parish, the DMV has not received ownership and registration details from the dealership. This has left me driving without official ownership. The recent ransomware issue has exacerbated my situation, and I'm concerned about the consequences of driving an unregistered vehicle. I'm hoping for assistance in resolving this matter promptly.

My name is Evangeline Parker, and I moved to Gray, Louisiana, in March [redacted]. My driver's license from Georgia was revoked for 20 years, and I was eligible to reinstate it in July. However, my Georgia state identification card expired on June 26, [redacted]. When I tried to pay my reinstatement fee last week, Georgia informed me that I couldn't because my suspension period only began on July 1, [redacted], after I surrendered my identification card in Louisiana. The mix-up between my driver's license and state identification card has now extended my reinstatement date to July [redacted], adding another 5 years of suspension. This error has been disheartening for me, as reinstating my license after two decades was a significant milestone. I am hopeful that this issue can be rectified promptly. Your attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Evangeline Parker.

I returned my truck's license plate at the Slidell DMV on June 25, [redacted]. I tried to renew my license but discovered a flag from [redacted] due to the truck breaking down out of state. I couldn't recover the plate, resulting in a $[redacted] reinstatement fee I couldn't pay. When I visited the Harvey office and explained, they advised me on the fines. Despite having insurance for the truck while it sat with a broken injector pump, the DMV has no record of the plate turn-in. I went back to the Slidell office and was told the fee is now $[redacted]+ because they can't find the plate record. I spent the whole day there trying to resolve it with $[redacted] in hand, but no luck. I want this issue fixed as I cannot renew my license, and I have already spent several days trying to resolve it.

I encounter the same recurring issues each year at the Bullard office. Last year, Ms. Touleke Stewart assisted me in obtaining my DL. However, this year, the staff at Bullard informed me Ms. Stewart no longer works there, and her approval email is no longer accepted. They mentioned I need a new email from the new district manager, Ms. Trizzah London, stating that my Employment Authorization Card is sufficient for ID purposes instead of a Passport. I attempted to reach Ms. London at the BT office but was unsuccessful. I am eager to resolve this issue so I can secure my ID for essential tasks like opening a bank account and driving to work. I appreciate any assistance in contacting Ms. London to expedite the process. Thank you.

Every year, I face recurring issues with the DMV office on Bullard. Last year, Ms. Touleke Stewart assisted me in obtaining my DL, as I am a refugee from Vietnam without a passport or visa, arriving in the U.S. in ****. This year, a different lady at the Bullard office informed me that Ms. Stewart no longer works there, making the email she provided invalid at that location. I was instructed to have the new district manager, Ms. Tirzah London, send me an email confirming that my Employment Authorization Card is sufficient for identification. I tried calling the provided number for Ms. London but was unable to reach her for assistance. I am seeking a way to contact Ms. London to obtain the email confirming the acceptance of my working permit for obtaining my ID or DL, essential for tasks like opening a bank account and driving to work. It has been nearly a year without a DL, and I appreciate my friend's help in transportation. Assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have been authorized by my doctor to obtain a temporary handicap parking permit. I spend around four months a year in Louisiana and the rest of the time I reside in California where I hold a driver's license. My car, which is registered in Louisiana with a LA plate, is kept here. The Louisiana Motor Vehicles office informed me that I cannot receive a handicap parking permit without a Louisiana driver's license. Is this accurate? How can I go about getting one?

I recently received a toll bill from Texas that I am disputing. The license plate mentioned does not belong to Toyota of Olympia nor is it a Washington state plate. NTTA in Texas claims they received an invoice from the State of Louisiana listing me as the registered owner of the vehicle during the time of the charges. The license plate number provided is TX plate C546945. I am looking to verify the VIN associated with this plate, if possible. Thank you, Sue.

I am seeking guidance on transferring a motorcycle title from Louisiana to South Carolina. The motorcycle is currently registered under my deceased maternal grandfather and was recently found with the paperwork of my late grandmother. The motorcycle, inactive since [redacted], is intended for me as all heirs, including my mother, have distributed family belongings amongst themselves and living grandchildren. I possess the title and additional legal documents pertaining to the family home sale, not specifying personal items. What steps do I need to take to re-register the motorcycle in my name in South Carolina? Appreciate any advice provided. Thank you.

I previously registered and insured my golf cart in Florida, and now I need to register it in Louisiana. I sent all the necessary documents to P.O. Box [redacted] in Baton Rouge, LA [redacted] on April 24, [redacted]. However, I have not yet received any communication from the LA Office of Motor Vehicles, Specialized Vehicle Unit regarding the status of my application. I am considering visiting the office located at [redacted] Independence Blvd to address this issue in person. Alternatively, I would appreciate it if someone could provide me with an update on the status of my registration application.

I purchased a [redacted] Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT with the VIN 1C4RJFDJ8EC377496 from Will Waring in September [redacted]. I am addressing an error on the Carfax report related to the mileage of the vehicle. The Louisiana DMV mistakenly recorded the mileage from the previous owner's trade-in of a [redacted] Ford F150 ([redacted] miles) instead of the correct mileage of the Jeep ([redacted] miles) when the vehicle was registered in Louisiana. I possess the bill of sale and current registration from Alabama to support the correct mileage. To rectify this, I require either a letter from the Louisiana DMV explaining the incorrect mileage or an updated title from Louisiana with the accurate information. The letter must include the VIN, license plate, date, and contact details. Once I obtain the necessary documentation, I can proceed to have Carfax correct the mileage error. Thank you for your assistance.

I am looking to remove the flag from my vehicle by paying the reinstatement fee. I had an appointment today at the DMV office in Harvey, Louisiana, but I was advised by an agent to contact the Baton Rouge DMV office. However, due to a high call volume, I was unable to reach anyone at the Baton Rouge office. I need assistance in resolving this issue and starting the process to pay the reinstatement fee. Additionally, I need to renew my driver registration and obtain a new license plate and tags. Thank you for your help. - Jerome C. J.

I recently purchased my official driving record online through expresslane.org. I am currently in Canada and need my driving record to obtain a license and lower my insurance rates. However, the DMV in Canada does not accept emailed documents and is unable to view the date of my first license. I urgently require my official driving record to be faxed to [redacted]. My name is Callie B. and my license number is [redacted]56. Thank you.

I waited at the DMV Reinstatement office in Winnsboro, LA for over 2 hours yesterday, December 21, [redacted], with my paid ticket receipts. I was then instructed to locate a fax machine and send my paid receipts to another unspecified Baton Rouge DMV office for reinstatement. Unfortunately, this requires separate phone calls, but no one is answering. I spoke with a condescending Black female after waiting for 1 minute and 53 seconds, and she actually hung up on me. Dealing with these illegal hurdles is preventing me from working.

I have been attempting to contact the DMV for a few days now regarding transferring a title to an heir as per the Decedent’s will. Unfortunately, I have not been able to reach anyone through the listed phone numbers to discuss the necessary steps to complete the transfer. My client faced challenges trying to secure an appointment with the DMV, eventually bringing required documents such as a certified copy of the probated will and the Court’s Order appointing her as the Independent Executrix, along with form DPSMV [redacted]. Despite this, she was turned away after waiting for the appointment. The Independent Executrix was officially confirmed by the Court with “Letters of Independent Executrix,” granting her the authority to carry out the transfer as directed in the will. It is crucial to understand the DMV's specific requirements on this matter to avoid further delays for my client. I am hopeful that by discussing the DMV's guidelines beforehand, we can resolve this matter efficiently for all parties involved. Thank you, Cynthia A. Bethea

I have had a suspended license for several years, with three outstanding tickets on the website requiring a $[redacted] reinstatement fee each. To regain my license, I need to set up an installment plan or make payments over the phone. Despite attempting to call repeatedly over several days, the high call volume message prevents me from connecting. I urgently need my license back before the 23rd. I am striving to obtain an email address to provide proof of payment or schedule new court dates for the citations. This issue also hinders me from registering two vehicles, one of which is in impound accruing daily fees, while the other has incorrect tags. Driving with a suspended license is not something I desire, but the phone communication barrier is making this process difficult.

I have been trying for over a week to reach the reinstatement call center to set up a payment plan for fines resulting from insurance lapses. My license plate was seized on 03/19/[redacted] due to these violations. Despite making over 50 calls to [redacted] (selecting option 3 for the installment plan), contacting the OMV through all their social media channels, and submitting 3 requests for contact via the Department of Public Safety, I have only spoken to one employee, Sarah D., who acknowledged my updated insurance documents, valid payment method, and citation details. I've emailed her thrice to stress the urgency of arranging a payment plan swiftly, as my vehicle is crucial for transportation. Daily calls to both the OMV and the installment plan office have yielded the same high call volume message. I am unable to use my vehicle until my license plate is returned, for which I need to finalize the installment plan for the fines. I am looking to escalate this matter to resolve it promptly.

I recently visited the Sulphur OMV to renew my driver's license and had an experience that I feel the need to share. Due to the Covid protocols, the staff member assisting me was behind a glass partition. During the eye exam, instead of using an eye chart, they held up a sign with letters for me to read, which I found challenging. The staff mentioned I needed 20/40 vision to pass. However, after visiting my eye doctor, I was informed that my vision was actually 20/30 in one eye and 20/40 in the other, which should have met the requirements. It seems there may have been inaccuracies in the testing at the OMV, leading me to pay for an unnecessary eye exam. I believe this process may be causing others to waste both time and money. I would like to file a formal complaint regarding the eye exam procedure for the benefit of myself and potentially others in similar situations.

I contacted the DMV in Baton Rouge to make my final installment payment. The lady on the phone continuously interrupted me, causing delays in our conversation. Each time I paused, the line went silent, prompting me to say hello repeatedly. When I requested an email receipt for the payment, she declined, insisting it would be sent to the address they had on file. I explained my recent move and asked for it to be sent to the updated address they had in their records, but she continued interrupting me unprofessionally. Despite repeatedly asking for her name, she was hesitant to provide it, eventually saying it was Kimberly. When requesting her last name, she adamantly declined. In the end, she abruptly wished me a good day and hung up. It seems like she may need a break, a raise, or perhaps a new position.

I am concerned about the driver's license that was issued to my son, Phoenix Maxwell Wheeler, after I divorced his mother. It was issued at [redacted] Highway 1 South, Alexandria, Louisiana. My son, who is mentally unstable, should not have a driver's license. He lacks the mental capacity to drive safely. I urge you, as a father, to revoke his license until the state can assess his capability. The vehicle he is driving is registered under his mother's name, Amanda Wheeler, at the same address. If needed, please contact Lafayette City Court as he has already been involved in reckless driving incidents. I fear for his safety and that of others on the road. Thank you, Fred Wheeler.

I recently received a renewal card for my truck registration. After sending in my payment, I have been eagerly awaiting my new registration card and sticker. Unfortunately, today I received a torn envelope from the Office of Motor Vehicles in Baton Rouge. The envelope, which was only half intact, had my name and address on it, but was missing the renewal sticker. The Post Office suggested it was damaged during processing and advised me to contact the DMV for a replacement. When I visited the DMV in Slidell, they informed me that I needed to reach out to Baton Rouge for assistance. Despite numerous attempts to contact them, I have been unsuccessful. It's frustrating that neither the DMV nor the Post Office could offer a solution. I would appreciate any help in resolving this issue.
