I am a 64-year-old individual who is new to applying for unemployment benefits. The process so far has been challenging and I believe there are significant issues that need to be addressed. I was scheduled for an interview with Mr. Miller from Teachers and Employment Insurance on 6-4-[redacted], but despite waiting for his call, I missed it and only received voicemails. Despite my attempts to rectify the situation by contacting the Freehold NJ office, I was unsuccessful. Mr. Miller attempted to call me several times on 6-5-[redacted], but the calls went straight to voicemail. I consulted Sprint, my phone service provider, and visited a local store, both of which confirmed that there were no settings on my phone blocking calls. Subsequent attempts at phone appointments were also unsuccessful, and even after seeking help from Sprint tech support, the issue persisted. Mr. Miller's calls continue to go to voicemail, even when trying my wife's phone. This situation is extremely frustrating as we are in financial distress and facing the risk of losing our home. The current system lacks alternative methods of communication, making it difficult to resolve this issue promptly.

I have been trying to contact by phone without any success. I have been claiming benefits since February. In April, I had issues claiming and my last payment was on 5/1/19. Despite reasserting my claim on 5/26/19 and receiving confirmation via email on 5/29/19, when I attempted to claim on 6/11/19, I was unable to do so. Today, on June 25th, I am still unable to collect my benefits as the system states they are not payable. Yesterday, on June 24th, I received a notice that benefits from 4/14/19 to 5/25/19 are deemed ineligible. The notice instructs me to visit the unemployment office in person or via mail and to engage in job-related activities. Due to health reasons, I would prefer handling this matter over the phone or through mail as I am currently undergoing physical therapy for a torn rotator cuff. Your guidance is much appreciated.

I had an appointment scheduled for the 7th with Jennifer Connors. Following our conversation, she requested information regarding my pension to be sent to her email, [redacted], which I did twice. Jennifer assured me that I would receive a payment in my account by August 9th, within 48 hours. However, as of today, I have not received any funds. I spoke with Louis Guerrero at 8 a.m. and he could not find any record of my case being processed on the 7th as Jennifer had promised. It seems Jennifer misled me about the timeline for payment, and I am yet to receive the funds as discussed.

I was approved for my unemployment claim starting on 09/16/[redacted], but now I have the chance to work for Uber. I am concerned about balancing the income from driving with my unemployment benefits. If I make $[redacted] every week with Uber and my NJ DOL payment is $[redacted] weekly, can I receive $[redacted] from NJ DOL instead? Additionally, I have high private healthcare costs. Is there any help available for this situation? Please advise me on how I can navigate these concerns as soon as possible. Thank you.

I believe my unemployment should have been backdated to 08/30/[redacted], the first day I had no pay. Unfortunately, it wasn't initiated until I finally spoke to a representative this week, which is the third week of December. I had been tirelessly calling since September only to be asked to call back the next day. When trying to file online, the system repeatedly mentioned an open claim that was never resolved, yet I haven't received any unemployment benefits. After leaving my number for a callback, even the director's office provided busy signals and instructed me to call back the next day. It's challenging for me to be away from home for extended periods as I am the primary caregiver for my wife, who is on disability. John J. Jr. 10/12/[redacted] [redacted] Piscataway, NJ [redacted] [redacted]

I attempted to apply for benefits online yesterday. After entering my details, I received a message stating there was an issue with my claim, despite being approved for benefits. Additionally, there is an appointment scheduled for March 16, [redacted], marked as non-monetary. I am looking to speak with a representative to address this matter. Furthermore, the prepaid card that was supposedly sent on November 20, [redacted], has not arrived.

On November 27, [redacted], I received a letter stating that I would get a call from a claims examiner on December 9, but I didn't receive any call. I have received unemployment benefit checks for the weeks ending on November 9 and 16. However, my filings have been put on hold until the claims review scheduled for December 9. I am eager to resolve this issue promptly so I can continue receiving my weekly benefits. Your assistance in this matter would be highly valued and appreciated.

I am employed through a recruiting agency at a company that informed me I would be finishing work on December 27th due to the site closing in March [redacted]. However, the situation suddenly changed this week, and I was notified that they are uncertain about my last day and plan to change my role to a warehouse worker, shifting my job from a microbiology analyst. They aim to start this transition in January when the site closes down. I have concerns about this change as I would prefer seeking a job aligned with my background. Additionally, I have a neck injury from [redacted] supported by medical records, making repetitive heavy lifting risky. This new role is not what I was originally hired for, and I am considering discussing my concerns with the company regarding my physical health and job duties. I have reached out to the recruiting agency for assistance in clarifying my situation with the company. I am exploring the possibility of filing for unemployment in New Jersey to understand my options before making any decisions about resigning. Thank you.

Hello, I am Salisa. I am confused as to why my weekly benefit was not processed. I have been receiving unemployment for three months, and I still have over $[redacted] left. Today, my claim was supposed to be for $[redacted], but it didn't go through. This is worrying as it is my only income for my daughter and me while I search for work. I received an email that the UI will be calling on Thursday, but the issue with my benefit not going through is frustrating. Not being able to talk to a person adds to my anxiety. I hope this can be resolved soon. Thank you.

I recently applied for unemployment benefits. A representative from the unemployment office tried to reach me from a blocked number, but I missed the call due to my settings and received a voicemail instructing me to call back. I've repeatedly attempted to reach them at [redacted], but I've been unsuccessful. Whenever I call, I am directed to a self-help line due to high call volumes or redirected to the unemployment website, where it now states my claim won't be addressed until March [redacted] because of a supposed dispute, which I was unaware of. The [redacted] date seems like a clear error and makes me feel overlooked. I am eager to receive the benefits I am entitled to while I train for a new job. This situation is frustrating, and I hope for a resolution soon.

I have been trying to file my weekly claim, but this week I encountered an error message on the self-service platform. When I tried calling, they wouldn't connect me to an agent due to a high volume of calls, and said I need to speak with an agent to complete my claim. Normally, I receive my payment on Thursdays or Fridays after filing on Tuesdays, but this week I was unable to do so. Kindly reach out to me. Thank you.

I have claimed my weekly benefits but have not received any money yet. I previously claimed once with an employee's assistance and fixed my information. However, I have not received any funds after claiming again on Sunday. I would like to understand why my money has not been released despite receiving confirmation of my weekly amount. This delay is causing financial strain as I have been out of work for nearly two weeks awaiting reports to return to work, only to be terminated unjustly. It has been four weeks without any payment, and I have bills and fines to settle. I hope to resolve this promptly and would appreciate a call back today to address the issue and expedite the process. Thank you for your assistance.

I began receiving my benefits on 12/1/19. Initially, I got paid for the first two weeks. However, my benefits are now marked as not payable due to an alleged misconduct separation from my previous job. I was actually laid off and have documentation via text messages from my employer confirming this due to lack of work. I have a hearing scheduled for 1/8/20. It's urgent for me to resolve this as I can't wait until the hearing, especially with my four children relying on me and while I am actively looking for new work.

I need assistance reopening a claim from December 4, [redacted]. I did not receive the notification regarding when to claim my benefits via mail. When I tried to claim, it was too late for the first two weeks. I finally received the notice last week, which was mailed on December 16, [redacted], instructing me to claim benefits on December 10, [redacted]. I need to speak with someone to address this problem. Every time I call, the automated service instructs me to call again the next day.

Regarding my 10:40 am phone appointment today (Jan 2), I was prepared, but I encountered an issue with Mrs. Brown's call around 12:04 pm. The call did not ring and went directly to voicemail, which is consistent with a problem I've been having with other calls. Despite troubleshooting with Apple and Verizon, the cause of this issue remains unresolved. I am eagerly anticipating Mrs. Brown's call back, as per her message, but it has not yet occurred. I sincerely hope this email clarifies that I did not miss the call intentionally; the issue seems related to my phone service providers. Your assistance in resolving this matter is greatly appreciated, especially as I am reliant on receiving my unemployment benefits.

I applied for benefits on December 01, [redacted] and was instructed to start claiming on December 18, [redacted]. It's now January 6 of the new year, and I have not yet received any payment. During the sign-up process, I only saw options for direct deposit or credit/debit, so I chose credit/debit assuming it was a prepaid card. I received an email indicating payment was made to my debit card, but I have not received any card in the mail. I need this money to get my vehicle running so I can secure employment. I would appreciate speaking with someone about this matter to resolve it promptly.

I recently applied for unemployment benefits and received notifications with information about the breakdown of my potential benefits and instructions for claiming them. I have tried to claim my benefits for the past few weeks but have been unsuccessful. I am unsure if I missed a step or answered a question incorrectly. Can you please investigate this matter for me and provide guidance on how to resolve it? Thank you for your assistance. - K. Purdie

I am experiencing extreme frustration at not being able to reach a live person, and I am on the brink of escalating this matter through the media. Despite filing for unemployment benefits four weeks ago, I have yet to receive any payments, putting a strain on our finances and negatively impacting our credit score. Today, on 3/13/20, the automated system mistakenly states that $[redacted].00 was deposited, but this has not reflected in my account. I am distressed by this situation and urgently request a call back at [redacted]. This delay has left me dissatisfied with the handling of my claim, especially considering the promised response time of 6-7 days is overdue. I implore a call back or intervention from a division director to rectify this issue promptly. The lack of communication and assistance from the agency is completely unacceptable.

As a student, waiting two months for unemployment benefits while continuously providing the same information is frustrating. I believe it should be resolved promptly by granting the benefits for me and my child to sustain ourselves until I secure employment. The requirement for a night student to face such challenges, especially while balancing studies and parental duties, needs to be reconsidered. It would be beneficial to have easier access to speak with a representative and resolve these issues efficiently. Despite my efforts in submitting all necessary information in person and contacting various numbers, the delay in assistance is concerning.

I have been attempting to file a new claim and reach a representative without success for the past week. Despite multiple daily calls, I have had no luck. The website directs me to call for assistance, yet I am unable to proceed online. I have faced challenges securing a job in the current coronavirus-impacted job market, having applied to over 30 positions in the last two weeks and experiencing rejections from interviews and hiring events. As a Veteran, I had hoped for extended unemployment benefits given the current circumstances and my plans to attend school under the 9/11 bill as a former Marine. However, with the pandemic causing disruptions, schools are not currently accepting new students. I have depleted my initial claim and am seeking guidance on potential extensions and retroactive payments for the last two weeks without benefits.
